Default Proppen-most productive sea trout fly

Proppen one of the best salmon flies in recent years. It is, without doubt my most productive fly for salt water sea trout fishing.* There is something about this pattern that sea trout just can’t resist.

I'd been casting spinners to what I believe were cutthroat trout slashing at schools of baitfish, down at the local harbor. Some larger Chinook salmon had me distracted for the last few weeks, but as they slow down, and coho haven't yet shown up in any numbers, I should have some time to get back to them and toss a few flies their way.
