Default Best scope rings for mag calibres?

I'm currently in the process of outfitting a T3 Lite in 7mm RemMag with a 30mm leupold with a 40mm objective. I've been advised to stick with good steel rings what with the recoil if this calibre. I was hoping to keep things light and go with a Talley one-piece base and ring. Any good feedback based on experience would be appreciated.

Cheers-

My rifle is heavier, but I am using the Talleys on my custom in 7mmstw, and I see no issues after about 150 rounds.

I went with Weaver Grand Slam rings on my 7mm rem mag. I have them on a few other rifles and have never had an issue.

Near alpha mount rings are top notch.

The Tally look very similar to the Browning X-lock one piece. I put the x-lock on my 30-06,have had no issues after shooting and putting it on the front rack and driving threw the . My friend has a 7mmstw he put leupold rings on it and they do not stay tight.

If you want light and strong go with the talleys. They will work fine. If you want the best and are not worried about weight by the Near alpha mount.

The Browning rings look like Talleys, because Talley makes them. I used Leupolds on a few 7mmstw rifles, as well as on my 300RUM rifles, and they held just fine. Some people don't lap them, or don't torque them properly, and they don't hold everything in place as a result.

I would go with the Sako optilock rings and bases on your tikka. IMO they are your best choice.

The Optilocks are heavy and very expensive, and are no stronger than several other mounting systems available for Tikka.

I also use the Burris signature Zee rings and have had nothing but good luck. I like the rings with the inserts myself, others may not.

I just put the same size scope on a tikka of my own, and the Burris rings weren't low enough for my liking, so I went with the sako rings and bases. I have them on a different rifle as well and they've been great.

I've got Talleys on a few rifles and haven't honestly used them much, but haven't had any trouble with em.

The Talleys are definitely lighter, that's for sure.

Talleys. Go to Cabelas and walk out with a set. They have lots in stock for Tikkas. If you live out of town call Prophet River and Clay will have them to you in a day or two.

Just bought a DNZ Game Reaper mount for my 7 Mag in 30mm.
Love the look and the idea. Too early to say how they perform but after 60 near max loads, they are tight and hold zero.

One piece mounts look like they would provide good strength. My only problem with them is they seem to narrow the area for top loading on some makes. Not really an issue on the Tikka though. They would also have more weight than a 2 piece.

I use Sako Optilocks on my Sako m75 and Tikka T3 rifles.

My first is a Sako m75ss 300WM bought new back in 1997. Mounted a Leupold Vari-X III 3.5-10x40.....no issues still to this day (My main hunting rifle). Only time reset the zero on scope was switched ammo and started to reload.

Rock solid rings and bases IMO

You've got a bunch of good options. The Talleys are good, as are the Optilock one piece "ring mounts". And of course the Near stuff is amazing as always.
