Default Great service mention

Just bought a scope and had it mounted @ P&D in Edmonton. Service was great, staff knew their stuff and top notch installation. Was overall a great transaction.

Glad to hear it, they are a great shop and my favorite stop when I am in town, they know their stuff and have always been great to deal with for me

P&D has yet to disappoint me, the other gun shop in the immediate area has done nothing but disappoint me, time and time again. P&D gets all my business when I am in that area of the city.

I like the fact their smith shop is behind glass, not hidden behind a wall.

Thumbs up Business transparency is always best

Good I hear.
Love open shops. Whether it is a gun shop or subway. Don't provide me things from behind closed doors.
Will frequent p&d

Good to hear, I have not been in there. On two occasions now their price was $150 more than Milarm when I was searching for a specific scope. They did have very good service on the phone though.

Hands down an all around better experience than the big guys in town right now. Service at Cabelas and Wholesale is their biggest shortcoming IMO, and I think P&D knows this. It'll certainly be my first stop for all things shooting.

My only complaint is when I bought a new rifle, scope and rings from them they still put on a surcharge for scope mounting without lapping. That is weak.

Not sure what's up with that. I bought the ring and scope, watched him spend just short of an hour mounting, including lapping, was charged $25 for the service. I thought that was pretty darn fair myself.

All other stores do it for free. I had them do this under that assumption (my mistake). If I would have known that I was getting charged I would have done it myself at home.

They have lots of stuff there and its nice that they have all of the prices online but I find Amazon.ca is often much cheaper than them for optics.

I recently purchased a scope and rings at WSS to go with a Ruger anniversary .22 I purchased from Cabela's. WSS installed it without charge. Very good service. I have now bought 5 scopes from WSS and they have installed each and every one.

Just guessing that P&D's business model is to price their products and their services in such a way that they can make a profit.

They need to hire, pay and retain good staff, inventory an excellent depth of merchandise, and be willing and able to support the customer after the sale is made.

Those things cost money.

Not all of the buying public can afford these value-added components, and some of those that can afford it see no value in them.

My favorite gun store for sure. Been shopping there for years. Staff with great knowledge if where its at.

The last scope I bought couple years ago was a Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40 with BC reticle for close to if ni0 under $ 500. THey were having a Leupold clearance and some of the scopes were packed around to gun shows - some had boxes, some boxes had small scuffs, some scopes had no boxes. Great deal as mine was in a box that looked as new as if the wrap was still on it. A friend bought a VX2 6-18 when I told him of the deals.
