Default West end of Slave Lake

Might head there next week and was wondering how the trails are for driving. I am interested in the Hiliards Bay area and we might go for a day at Joussard. Any info would be great. Thanks

I just took a drive out there today to look around.

At Hilliards you must bring a quad, sled or sidexside - NO truck trail going out to Cutbank. Good trails for machines though. There are three shacks out there and I saw a bunch of people out there.

Can't comment on the fishing, haven't fished in while.

Access at joussard is good. Ice is as good as it was in January. Fishing was slow but caught a limit of walleye in the middle of the day. Saw lots on the flasher that were looking but slow takers.
Dead stick rods worked best, jigging not so much. Lots of Jack and one whitefish.

I did ok jigging spoons last weekend but one had to sort of shake the spoon, just make it dance on the spot. A silver Do-jigger got the most hits for me.
