Default New ice fishing shelter

Got a good deal. Now comes the set up.

Looks like a giant Lego set.

Picked a single man sled style one.

Looking forward to some end of season ice fishing.

Gonna take a while to put it together. In the procrastination phase at the moment.

I decided to go.... Commando. Frabrill commando max 1.

It had metal parts instead of mostly plastic in the other brands.

Anyone else have one?

Saved ~$300 on it which helped.

Got that exact shelter myself, LOVE IT!

Install was twice as long as they state. Also, have a pair of pliers on hand when screwing the tent to the base so you can pinch the plastic/rubber and be sure the screw goes through both sides.

Good tip.

Thanks.

I think I am going to get the high density plastic and make runners underneath so you can pull over rocks and not scratch a thing.

Count your parts carefully before you start. I had double sets of certain parts in mine but was missing a number of others.

It certainly takes allot more time than they suggested, and an extra person will be welcome when putting it together, even though the instructions say one person. The problem with the directions I feel is they seem to have just chucked the commando instructions and the recon shuttle instructions together instead of making a set of commando max instructions. Hence, photo's and diagrams are wrong etc etc.

Have fun with you new toy
