RCMP were out there when I was fishing today. Was also a plane flying over the lake repeatedly low and slow. I didn't talk to anyone though

People need to understand that only a couple weeks ago it was open water. Even though technically the ice thickness should be ok to take a sled on, it hasn't fully developed all of its tensile strength yet. Ice is still forming that's why you hear all the cracking and groaning under the ice right now. What's the rush? It's minus 30 to 40 out, not very nice weather to fish in, give the ice its required time to develop all its strength before venturing out too far. Ice forms from the edges out towards the middle. Therefore don't go out too far yet, give it time to set up good first and stay shallower. Will be fine in a month. If anyone is taking a vehicle on so soon, well that's just dumb too! Don't do it!
