Red head choke tubes
I picked up a red head choke tube for my sxp winchester 12 gauge yesterday and when I got home i noticed that it fits but the actual tube is way shorter than what came with the gun, I think it will do the job but the tube does not run to the end of the barrel. Does anyone have input on this, I am leaning towards just returning it and buying the winchester original.

Way shorter? It sounds like you are trying to use an invector choke tube in a barrel designed for the invector plus choke tubes.

I don't think so, If I am not mistaken don't the inventor plus tubes stick out past the end of the barrel?.

If you have an SXP it uses invector plus choke tubes. These choke tubes are available as flush fit choke tubes, or as extended choke tubes. If you think that all invector plus choke tubes protrude from the muzzle, then you are mistaken.

I agree you have the wrong choke for that gun.

I also have a Winchester sxp, they take invector plus chokes. The three that come with it are all flush fitting. But you can buy extended chokes. Hopefully they will let you return it!

Whether the invector plus choke tube has the Winchester name on it, or the Browning name, the only difference is the name. Briley makes the invector plus chokes for both brands. As well, several other companies sell good quality invector plus choke tubes.

Dont forget that any brand invector plus choke will work. There are lots under the browning name. I prefer extended chokes to prevent my barrel from damage if I drop my shotty whilst hunting.

I can't say that I have ever seen a Winchester brand (invector plus) choke tube in any of the stores around Edmonton. The only ones that I have seen are the browning brand. Hope you find what you're looking for.
