Default Couple questions for you southern folk!

My sister is in provincials in Cochrane so im tagging along and want to do some fishing! so my ideas were icefish one day and i was thinking either bearspaw, glenmore and ghost. Any ideas if ice will be safe? tips and trick? also i wanted to try the bow for awhile, i have a fly rod and may attempt to use it but have no idea what flies or how i should fish them? IF anyone can give me any help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

Glenmore does not permit ice fishing and the seasons closed.

Ghost is your closest option.

You can fish for burbs in the evening.

You can fish for whites in the morning.

Gets windy, bring a tent.

You can try nymphing under an indicator on the Bow.

Just a note that some of the sections of the bow around Cochrane are currently closed to fishing until April 1, so you'll likely have to travel a bit downstream to chuck a fly. I'm assuming you'll be checking regs anyway, but just wanted to point it out.

From first dam below Hwy 1X downstream to Ghost Reservoir (not including the reservoir), & tributaries except Ghost River
 Nov. 1 to Mar. 31 – CLOSED

From (Ghost Dam) downstream to Bearspaw Reservoir (not including the reservoir), & tributaries except Jumpingpound Creek
 Nov. 1 to Mar. 31 – CLOSED

Regarding which flies and how to fish them your best bet is probably nymphing under an indicator as suggested by Bee. I'd suggest using a san juan worm as the first fly with something else suspended below that. Use a touch of weight if necessary to get your flies down quickly, and if you're not occasionally dragging the bottom with your setup you should set the indicator so that you're going deeper.
