Default Mons lake

Went to Mons today for about the tenth time. Did well all winter for perch. Caught many today all but 4 were good enough to keep. Dropped the camera down and there was literally hundreds of 2-4 inch perch. Never saw anything over 6 inches. Tried all over the lake and same results. It was neat to see some pike chase after those little guys. The pike never looked at anything we put down. There were so many that i snagged a couple 1.5 inchers while pulling my hook up to check bait. It was just so odd to see that many this time and nothing even close to size, as before we would see many.

We were out today too. My lady and I, 3 friends and 3 kids in total. We were completely skunked but saw a lot of 4 inchers swimming around. Should make for a good summer I hope. Gonna try nakamun next I think.

Ice was thick. 16 inches. Dry snow on top. Lots of people out.

Was out there yesterday. Lots of little guys but managed 13 keepers. Saw literally hundreds on the camera at varying depths from the bottom all the way up to just under the ice.

Been out there twice this winter and had the same experience. Those little ones are EVERYWHERE, 20ft to 2ft, bottom to top. Makes a guy wonder if the pike population has crashed or what?

Only made it out once this year, but it made for a great feast for the 4 of us.
