I jump through hoops to be able to purchase and possess restricted and non restricted firearms and ammo. Send these clowns to prison.

My comment was that if (that's IF) NOBODY on this forum (that's tens of thousands of people) had ever heard of or dealt with them, that would be a red flag. You disagreed and used the broke grinder analogy. So by YOUR reasoning, the entire membership here would have to be broke grinders that this company specifically did not want to deal with.

In any event, we have now found someone who has done business with them. I assume he's not a broke grinder. LOL

Anyway, more broadly, we may disagree with the present laws. We may battle to change them. But we have to respect and follow them. Because every time we don't, it just puts another round in the chamber of the antis, who can say "Look at that. These guys don't even follow the minimal laws that are in place. They can't be trusted."

AND we won't know if they broke any laws until the trial.

K&D is well known down there, all the way to Pincher and the Pass. We bought several guns from them for fundraising auctions for our trappers association. Very accommodating. Great selection. And not just guns but everything for camping, ice fishing, etc. This is sad news but if they failed to do the necessary checks, and someone reported them... well, I guess the law is the law.

Time will tell what the specifics are - be it organized crime, or failure of due diligence (checking pals).

• If it was organized crime, then good.
• If its selling restricted to people without a rPAL, then tough luck, rules is rules…
• If it’s simply failure to check pals for non-restricteds or ammo, then i think the writing is on the wall for us gun owners.

It would have been on the direction of higher rank RCMP or Crown Prosecution to press formal charges, display all those guns and ammo, take photos and send to the media. And I’m cautiously hopeful they would not have gone to these lengths if this wasn’t serious (and involving a criminal element) ….

I have never dealt with the store so I have no comment on the charges.
As far as not showing your P.A.L to purchase ammo or a firearm. Check out the recent religious accommodation made by the CFO. Special people don't have to have there picture taken or displayed on there P.A.L
Let the decline of our country continue

no they do not.
There are some religous groups (muslims for example) who do not have to have a picture on their firearms license. yet another example of how canada must bend and change the rules to accommodate foreigners who want to change what used to be a great country! ...... sorry almost got on a rant there.

Good store!

Best selection of ammo
Flytying gear

Fishin tackle

In Southern Alberta hands down!

Bought lots of ammo there. They asked to see PAL every time.

bought lots of stuff over the years at K & D. One of the best hunting & fishing stores in Alberta. Great people to deal with. Unlike some of you I will wait for the outcome of the trial ,if there is one , before I pass judgement.

LOL I hear you OKO. Don't people who are exempt from having to show a PAL still have to show some other kind of ID that proves they are exempt? Which in effect is pretty well the same thing?
EDIT... Opps. Oh well, your both on same page.

It could have been something as simple as a store owner or clerk selling an item to a regular customer without asking him for his PAL like he may have done innumerable times before because he recognises the customer a s an upstanding member of the community and knows he has a licence. Someone may have witnessed this and complained.

Default Southern AB gun store accused of selling guns illegally

Hey just saw on the news he other day that the Amish have been moving to the maritime and oddly they don't need a picture on their pal.

Just thought I would throw that out since it was coming out.

Although the MSM was making seem bigger than it was , they were selling binary explosives after all.

But really they mostly just stepped on their own nards and it will cost them.

I know someone personally who did the PAL course at this store, and then as soon as possible purchased a firearm. They knew the owners personally. When you know your customers that well, and considering the need to show a document that may as well be a piece of loose leaf scribbled on in a dark alley, this seems to be a little overkill.

But there is more to the story, and we will only get to hear the negatives.

Did my PAL re-cert couple years ago, and ya, it was in the back of the store, and, well, I noticed, stuff everywhere. I'm told the old man is a very prominent member of the church. Good people, just, a little old school, but did break the law, the law is the law love it or hate it.

Considering this is in Cardson, I take it you mean a prominent member of the Mormon church? I ask because they have a very specific doctrine as outline in the following quote, which comes from https://www.lds.org/manual/doctrine-...-laws?lang=eng
Abraham Lincoln once observed: “Bad laws, if they exist, should be repealed as soon as possible; still, while they continue in force, they should be religiously observed.” This is the attitude of the Church in regard to law observance. We agree with the author of the following statement: “In reality the man who defies or flouts the law is like the proverbial fool who saws away the plank on which he sits, and a disrespect or disregard for law is always the first sign of a disintegrating society. Respect for law is the most fundamental of all social virtues, for the alternative to the rule of law is that of violence and anarchy.” (Case and Comment. March/April issue, 1965, p. 20.) There is no reason or justification for men to disregard or break the law or try to take it into their own hands
