Default Tikka 7 RM 162 eldx loads

Has anyone had success with these? I have them a try last year quickly but nothing looked great so I went with the good old 168 vld loads. The rifle shoots .25-.5 moa with them.

I'm thinking about trying the 162 eldx again to see if I can get similar results. Coal isn't a problem as they will feed from a 3.715" mag.

Curious to hear other people's results.

I loaded 162gr ELDX for my Kimber 280AI with mixed results. Ended up with 1.3MOA 5-shot groups so I moved on.

That is lights out shooting with the Berger. Unless you are looking for a big change in bullet construction , such as a switch to mono metal, I would stick with that Berger load.

x2, if VLD's shoot that good in your rifle forget about any other bullet/powder combination, just go with it

Eldx grenade more than VLD...so if you want more of the same explosive terminal effects, I'd stick with the vld.

All valid points, just figured it would be nice to have a second load Incase of another Berger shortage.

If your worried about a Berger shortage I would put your money into a good supply of vld’s instead of working on another load.

Default Tikka 7 RM

With groups like that, why would even consider trying anything else?!
