Default Fish & game clubs

Do any of the fish & game clubs hold a Elk scoring contest? Or is there somewhere I could go to take my elk to Boone and Crockett scored?

Cherry Grove Big Buck night scores Elk and will have a major prize for the biggest elk at the show.

You can search for a list if Boone and Crockett scorers on there website. There will be one not too far away. The bull can then be entered in the afga annual contest.

Most places that have scoring nights will be able to score the Elk for you, might not have a prize but scoring an Elk isn't exactly all that difficult to score. The only difference from a deer to an Elk is the size and where you take the first circumference.

Dang it. Do they not advertise this stuff anymore? You used to hear about lots before. But I did get ahold of Cabelas. Sounds like they are holding their 2nd annual event tentatively on Feb 1. So that's where I'm most likely gonna take mine. Unless I hear of a closer one. I harvested my bull nov 6 so 60 day drying period is coming up soon. Would like to get it measured as close to that as possible. I've come up with a rough score of 362

There has got to be someone at your local F&G club that can do the scoring or does it have to be someone representing Boone and Crockett? I dropped into the F&G club here in Morinville and someone was happy to score a set of moose antlers that I had.

You do not need to be a member of the afga to enter the provincial awards. The entry info and past winners lists are on their website.

Busby Fish and Game is holding their horn scoring and trade show Jan 25, 2014 in Westlock. They will score elk antlers there. Will be posting details as soon as I get a poster jpeg.

I saw a sign at Wholesale, not sure who is putting it on but there is a scoring January 18th at the Yellowhead inn I believe.
