Secret Santa (me?) got me a really nice S&W Model 657, stainless steel N frame in .41 Magnum....older gun and on the rare side, and it has 106 mm barrel so restricted, not prohib. It's verrrry nice! Came with original box and papers, cleaning kit still in the plastic, 300 JHP bullets to load (Nosler 210 gr), some Federal ammo, a set of Hornady dies, and a Triple K holster. I like it. A lot! I took the original target grips off (a bit FAT for my mitts!) and put on a set of VZ Grips (G10) that I had. I may still opt to put on a pair of Hogue Mono grips, or Pachmayr Decelerator yet though. I plan on loading on the warm side, and it's going to recoil with some snap.

Nice revolver!

I have a .41 mag in the Model 58 with the 4 inch barrel. Does have some snap that is for sure.

Randy I plan on heading down to CNP to fill a turkey tag sooner than later.

You have the Model 58? Those are really hard to come by! Nice!! I have had the 57 for a while with a 6" barrel, but didn't shoot it much as it was too nice, but this Model 657 is going to get some range time! I love the .41 Magnum, how could Elmer Keith, Bill Jordan, and Skeeter Skelton be wrong?? 20 % less recoil than the .44 magnum, 20% more energy than the .357 Magnum. It's that sweet spot....unless you are on the receiving end I suppose.

For those not familiar with the mighty .41 Magnum, this is a great article. The .41 Magnum really should have been named the .41 Keith, in honor of that great shooter.
