Default Leatherman warranty is great

My husband broke the tip of the knife on his Wave and we sent it in. They replaced it for free. Got a refurb back within 10 days. Great service!

They are excellent. I've been carrying an original Super Tool for 24 years, it's on my hip every day I work. It has gone back 3 times, for a broken screw driver (not a pry bar after all), a broken knife tip (snapped in a deer's vertebrae), and I managed to snap off one side of the pliers trying to bend some 16 g stainless steel. They repaired and returned every time, and my blades were even re sharpened. I haven't managed to break my Wave yet.

They will do that, unless you throw in a strongly worded note saying how much you love your old original Super Tool, and please repair, don't replace! I had to do that the last go around, when I called customer service they indicated a replacement but I pleaded with them. I love the original!

I also got a replacement Wave from a broken plier tip, it's nice as you get a new sheath and the bit kit to boot, not merely the tool. I only wish there was some program to replace the three various ones I've lost over the years, including a Charge TTi

They are great I sent in an original that my wife found in the red deer river that had a broken blade. They replaced it with a blast model. I just received a new wave model after sending in a fuse with a broken screwdriver tip. I also prefer the older models though.

I never have liked the original Leatherman. I didn’t like the feel of them in my hands while trying to use the, so I bought one of the original sliding Gerber’s. I sent it in and got a replacement after gripping something to hard and bending the jaws making it almost impossible to open and close. I still have that replacement.
A couple of years ago now I got a Blast for myself, and I think it’s a Blast for my son. Mine is silver, his is black. They feel a lot more comfortable in the hands than they used to. Hopefully they still have the black model because my sons has to go in.
