Default Replace screw in field points with glue in target points.

I'm considering replacing my screw in 100 gr. field points with Easton HP 100 target points. I'VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE.

I'm also using Easton Hexx 400 shafts

I'm going to assume I heat the already screwed in field point so I can pull the insert out. Before I heat the new point and insert, do I have to clean the inside of the arrow shaft? If so with what?

Depends what was used to glue in the inserts....and if it reacts to heat. Heat and carbon do not mix well...they are not like the old aluminum and hot glue.

Put your field point in a vice, Heat up your field point with a torch on the threads, screw in, then maneuver it out.

Carefull not to overheat...will destroy a shaft in seconds if done...
I also use this method...dont seat the tip all the way and let heat transfer down point threads...have patience let heat be gradual...while pulling on arrow...
Another method is pull nock drop a drill in backwards exact size of shaft and hold shaft up so bit sits in nock area give the shaft a swing in safe area and at times insert pops right out pending on glue...havent damaged one shaft this way...insert are garbage after of course...

I use a 30 Cal rifle bore metal brush on a handle ...dipped in Acetone ...clean like rifle barrel ...a folded pipe cleaner or Q-tip finishs the job
