Default Bolt scope clearances

Has anyone ever ran into problems mounting a vx iii 1.75-6x32 or 2.5-8x36 as low as possible?

How close is the bolt to the eye peice on a 90 degree action. Will it hit? I'm looking at rem 700s as well as defiance/lone peak.

Open to other recommendations for simple hunting rifle actions as well . Goal is 7lbs.

I have mounted both of those scopes on 700s using low rings. The largest factors where weight is concerned are barrel length/contour, and the stock.

I have 2 2.5-8x36 on 700 short actions, both talley lw's. one set is low the other x-low. only problem I had is with the x-low the mag dial would touch mount where I wanted it, so just snuck it back a hair.

bolts work no contact, although the x-lows are real low! can send ya a pic if u want.

I believe guys run into eye relief issues on the 700 long action with certain ring/base set-ups as these scopes have shortish tubes. with talley lw just turn the front ring around should do it.
