Compound bow for my 13 year old daughter

Hey Guys

I would like to purchase a compound bow for my daughter who has grown out of her current recurve which was a cheapie from Bass Pro. She has really shown a keen interest and I told her I would not get her a new bow unless she shows a real commitment and I can see now she means business. Not sure what her arm length and so forth are but that should be easy enough.

So please, if anyone can chime in any offer their $.02 worth that would be great. Make, model, arrow size and so forth......

There are great bows available now for kids. Last one I bought from Jim Bows was a Diamond brand and has adjustable draw lengths and poundages. It is quick and easy to make adjustments and went from something like 26 pound to 45 pounds.

hoyt ignite : 15-70lb, 19-30" draw
Mission craze 2: 13-70lb, 19-30" draw
Diamond infinate edge : 5-70lb, 13-30" draw


I'm not typically a hoyt guy, but the ignite struck me as being considerable better made than the other two when I helped my sister-in-law pick her first bow last year.

All can be had in package deals or bare bow.

My wife has a pse stiletto it seems ok. Very adjustable,Its purple so she likes it lol

Take her to a shop and get her to try them out. Write down the ones she likes.

Only way to know is to get her to try them. Trophy Book, Jimbows, Cabelas, WSS. Take your time.

My son picked Mission Craze after trying about 9 other bows. Who knows what your daughter will pick????? Thats the fun in it.

I shot 13 bows and picked the Strother SX Rush. I had Diamond in mind when I walked in. Strother was best for me. Ya never know

What is the budget? Is she done growing or is her height and draw length going to change a bunch yet? If she is almost done growing then maybe a highly adjustable bow like the Diamond infinite edge isn't the answer. Don't get me wrong my 14 year old boy and 10 year d daughter lover theirs.
If she's not going to grow a bunch more a bow that is close to her current draw length might fit her better.

I say get her to a shop and let her shoot everything in the budget that fits her and let the bow pick her. I was at a 3 d shoot on the weekend and there were a bunch of ladies shooting Bowtechs, they may have been Carbon Roses?

Once you pick a bow then the shop should be able to set you up with arrows. Probably in a 500 spine but that will depend a lot on her draw weight.

Good luck a lot goes into picking the right bow.

Try pse fever1. tonnes of adjustment for drawlength and poundage. pretty reasonable price and will last forever.

X2my 11 yr son has this bow is now 13 and using the same one, the guys at Jim's are awesome spent half the day setting it up for him....

Just upgraded my boy to a Diamond Infinite Edge Pro from the Diamond Atomic....I let him shoot a couple bows at Jimbows and that's what he picked.

I would ensure that I provide an opportunity to them to try the Diamond Infinite Edge. It may not be what they end up choosing however it should be an option available to them.

My son is presently shooting a Diamond Atomic (the smaller version of the Infinite Edge). It's a great full feature compound bow where he can learn the fundamentals on a fully functioning compound.

I'm less about brand loyalty than choosing what is the "best" choice to meet my needs.
