Default string wax

ok have a question I use to use mossy oak sting wax which is pretty firm I was happy with it but when last shopping I bought some scorpion venom which is far softer and has a bit of a greasy feel which Is actually better for the string

Both will do he job, I prefer scorpion venom, then after the waxing is done I wrap a piece of dental floss fairly tightly around the string and slide it down the string, u will be amazed how much extra wax is in your strings..

The dental floss trick works great, but try it before rewaxing. It'll get rid of all the nasty dirty wax. Then put on a fresh coat!

I've tried/stress testing with 5 or 6 different budget waxes (<$10) where I purposely tried to wear the string. String Snot came out on top in my books.

dental floss after too, your string will only absorb so much then u are left with access on there, best to get it off

Scorpion Venom also has a string cleaner that cleans the string nice and shinny from dirt and old wax then conditions it...then one can put new wax of choice on...prevents build up...

yup its amazing..biggest mistake people make is waxing strings where strings roll on cable guard rollers, cams and idler wheels...I have seen build up so bad it caused mistrack of string on draw...

FYI- its ok to wax serviongs also besides bare strings...prevents slipping or serving seperation actually ...just dont wax as stated above...

How do you wax serving were it doesn't contact cams, idlers, or roller guards? Thats the whole purpose of it

DO NOT wax serving it is unnecessary and will only attract dirty and grime to the serving....

Waxing the serving ends can prevent slipping or seperation...it does no harm ..if done correctly it is heated by friction and works its way into the string and serving...of course as mentioned before dont get carried away..

Waxing the string works in several ways...one it prevents the string from drying out and fraying...which will lead to damage...

waxing string also adds to speed of bow slightly...cuts down string noise...

waxing string will cut down on wear and damage...

I like getting new strings with serving over the areas that roll on my cam and idler, however where the draw stop on my cam hits the string, I'm noticing heavy wear into the serving, and it is even starting to make a flat spot on the string itself.

I replace as necessary, positive it's just from drawing aggressively lol.
