Here in Alberta we have areas literally over run with them and now next to no game because of it. Predators need to be controlled too so good on you for doing your part. Nice picture.

Back at the cabin after a successful sheep hunt. I’m down at the creek fishing when I hear the plane coming so I hurry back to get packed up and I see my guide holding my rifle and waving at me. Both of us trying to wave at the pilot not to land as we’d seen a wolf on the strip. Too late, the plane landed and the wolf took off. We went after him on a large willow flat and finally seen him a long ways out. I wasn’t going to try a shot but the guide said he won’t ever be any closer. Resting the gun over the guides shoulder the crosshairs very unsteady I shot. I must have flinched just right. A bit of a tracking job and there it was. Very old wolf with the most deformed jaw I ever saw.

Do you have pictures of his jaw? Any guess on his weight?

All trophies should have a story, that's a good one.

Wolves are said to be the hardest animal in North America to harvest
And you make it look easy!
Good job buddy!

Wolves lead a rough life, I've got one with a mangled foot, maybe from a trap and another with a scar across his nose.

One thing about packing a wolf that old, makes you look 30 years younger.
Using the 7MM? Congrats on another one!!

That’s my guide carrying it, a fieldcraft in a 270 is my latest favourite.
