Default Help

My buddy has an old gun that we need help identifying. The only stamps we see are serial #'s, there is a 1916 stamp on it. There is some kind of crest stamp, it's a small crown on top of two letters. I can't make out what letters they are. It doesn't have a clip but it looks as though you load from the side into a box type of thing. We were guessing that it was a Lee Enfield but can't find any kind of pictures of this type of gun. There is also a stamp on the bolt .724; is this a calibre? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I will take some pictures and if my vague description doesn't help to identify I can e-mail the pictures to any one that is interested in helping. Thanks

Yes, that's what it is. Thank you Dick. Is it worth anything?

Depends:
Is the wood all there? If it has been sporterized by Bubba its not worth much.
Caliber matters, as does remaining finish.
