Default Ammo recomendations

Taking my 13 year old lad out for coyotes soon. Recently bought him a Tiko in 308 cal.
What do you folks recommend for ammunition for him?
Thanks.
Roy

All 308 ammo will work fine for coyotes just so long as it shoots decent groups in your rifle. If I was handloading I'd go with light loads using something like Sierra's 125 spitzers. For store bought I heard that one manufacturer was making a light 308 load especially for kids. Don't remember which company, or which bullet, but it would be my choice to try. Good luck in your yote hunting.

if you are planning on keeping the pelts on the yotes I would personally go with the heaviest bullet my rifle would shoot. The heavier bullet will not have enough time to open up all the way but will punch through the yote and still do the job great with minimal damge to the pelt compared to a light fast bullet out of the round.
