Afraid our season has come to a whole bunch of an abrupt halt as of Thurs AM last wk. Hunted with some different folk over the last couple of weeks, one fella we met 2 or 3 yrs back, has been out with us off and on since then. He was out for two or three days, shot some specks and a few ducks and snows. Then we took on a couple from Idaho that were around and having a hard time at it. Then our regular friend Al Rach came out for a couple of days. He came up in the blizzard on last Tues AM, met us at 4;00AM. We chickened out on the weather, the wind was just too much for comfort. Went out Wed and took the couple from Idaho with us, and had a good shoot on specks and a few snows. Al left Wed about noon, and Matthews Archer and I hunted Thurs AM on our own again. We were thinking about packing up around 8-8;30am when we got a call in the field that Big Al had a heart attack Thurs AM. Fastest decoy pickup and camp teardown ever.
And Big Al stepped on the rainbow tonite.

Thanks for sharing that picture of Al . I didn't know him as well as I would have liked. He was a nice man and a wealth of knowledge. I am happy to have met him. Condolences to everyone that knew him.
