Default Custom load for 145gr ELD-X over 3000fps?

Has anyone successfully made a custom load for a Win 270 using Hornady ELD-X 145 grain bullets and have the muzzle velocity over 3000 feet per second?

I'm hoping that I'll be able to but just wondering if anyone has been successful at it yet.

Default Should be doable

I found a good reply on another web site. The latest Hornady reloading handbook lists the ELD-X 145 grain in with their 140 grain .277 bullets. Max loads are listed at 3000fps, including using IMR 4831.

For my 270WSM, 66.5gr of H1000, 215M primers, 145gr ELDX, 28” barrel, gets me 3153ft/s.

Question

I got 3000fps using 130gr pills, 60gr H4831 I believe if memory serves me right...not sure if doable with 145gr pills though?

It could be a squeeze to get a 145 up to 3000, I load the 140 NAB in my 270 and it's at max charge of IMR 4350 and I'm ay 2970 FPS but it's very accurate so I'm not messing with it.

Have you ever tried reloder 16 with those 140 accubonds?

No never have, the 4350 load is so darn accurate that I have not messed with anything else, I have some Berger 130 gr classic hunter hybrids that I am going to try, maybe i'll try to find some RL16 and give it a go.

Buddy of mine has necked 6.8 PRC to 277 and has some superb loads with a variety of bullet weights.....FS

I have a load using the 140 TSX and H4350 that is accurate and gave me 3009fps. If I wanted to try jarder with the ELDX I think I would try RL26. For some reason people say it gives real good velocity and accuracy.

Default Just waiting for the ELDX to show up

I haven't reloaded anything in the 270 yet (brand new gun for me) though I've done plenty in 300 Win Mag and 25-06. Based on what I'd like to accomplish, and my success with IMR4831, my intention is to find the right combo with the ELDX. Of course, if it turns out my gun just doesn't like it, I'll test out some others.

I’m shooting 145gr ELDX out of my 270wsm. H1000 and retumbo were giving poor groups and poor velocity. Switched to Reloader 26 and am getting 3247fps.

The ELDX bullets like some jump so seating depth is important with them.
