Default What is banned?

So mauser and clones and ruger no1 got named as prohibited now. Does that mean all rifles of that design or just the ones that make or exceed 10k jules? Will be interesting how this plays out...if it's all guns than every CRF based off a mauser or just ones made by mauser? And what about the #1??? Not that I will follow any of these ridiculous new " laws" but.... it makes a guy wonder to what the heck these losers are thinking.

It'll be a case of hurry up & wait to see, what they do on the FRT's, Wby Mark V is already listed as prohib in 460Wby since May 2020. Guns that were chambered in 50cal, 460, all the Cheytacs have already had the change to the FRT's done, I believe you can go to RCMP website and see that, they are supposed to have opened a page for gunowners to check that for themselves, haven't seen anything official on that being done yet, though..
Otherwise, there is Armalytics, who have created a public version of the FRT's and updates as discovered by the gunshops.

It's an evergreen policy.

'And variants....'

So, what are variants of the Mauser 98, and the Weatherby MkV, and the Ruger #1....

Seems like they can ban any bolt action rifle they want, as a variant, any time they want. And break actions. And all semi autos.

Instead of asking what's 'on' the list, the better question is what won't be. And the short answer is, nothing.

At some point, gun owners need to realize the end game is the complete disarming of everybody. Guns are bad, don't you know? Think of the children.

I just saw a video of PP asking Trudeau about the amendment, Trudeau said hunters will not be affected and that they aren’t going after rifles or shotguns, only military style assault weapons. He also said the conservatives were deep in the pockets of the US gun lobby whatever that means. What an absolute lying piece of s***

Buy all the ammo you can find. If you think you have enough, buy more. Never quit while it is still available.
I truly hope there is less (none would be great) compliance this time around

Exactly. I've been saying this for the last couple years. You are on point.

It's hard to believe a guy as smart as you is an Oilers fan, but I guess everyone has their flaws.

If only there was just the one and not plural

Lately, just when I think I have enough and nuts for having that much, I buy more. Pretty cheap right now......

My thought is that if 4 strong men and a boy can lift the crate with all your ammo in it, you don't have nearly enough.

I have not been formally served notice for all this talk I'm hearing. I have heard some people were sent something via mail but I have not seen anything.
Till someone comes knocking telling/serving me, I'm not changing a thing.

Little potato doesn't know the difference between a pop gun, a cap gun, or a bolt action hunting rifle. Neither do any of the clowns writing this legislation.

Default Legal question

So he is the question: Alberta and Saskatchewan government both instructed the rcmp not to participate in a confiscation process based on the article that their services are more valuable and required at the different fields of law enforcement. That means that they are not gonna come knocking at your door.
But what about taking the non restricted guns that made the new list to the crown land for shooting? If I’m gonna take let’s say the 22LR GSG16 to shoot gophers and the rcmp guy shows up- then what?

This is where you will have to go to see all the variants, and if the FRT changes on them after C21 has been passed;

Turdy is clearly stating they are only going after "Assault style guns" (Still don't know what that is).

I guess we all just need to wait for the great knife ban to happen next.

I had a semi auto that I gave to a youth hunter a few years ago. I bought it during the LGR time. So I'd they send me a letter asking me to hand it over, I will know that they have the info still.

I would imagine there are countless instances of that, the LGR data is so old now that it is pretty much useless.

Take a hard look at what's listed, and then decide what will be a variant of the Mauser, Weatherby, or #1 in the future!
This is just the start!

Default Lee Enfield

I suppose this is probably the wrong thread for posting this question - apologies - but I'm confused about something. What are the regulations regarding Lee Enfields .303s and their ten shot detachable magazine?

Probably shorter to make a list of what's not banned. Sooner or later everything will be if we don't resist.
