Default Fair price for primers?

I see some Winchester (white and orange box) primers listed in the buy/sell for $500 for a 1000 piece box. Is that going rate these days?

About a month ago, a store not far away had stock, and was selling at $100/1000.

With some digging, you can find them to $100 - $150 per brick in stores.

The guy selling them for $500 a brick on here is a gouging clown and anyone who buys them at that price is a fool.

Yes and no. You most definitely find them for 100 -150 a brick with some digging around. 500 a brick is 100% gouging

I haven't paid much attention to LRM primers simply because I have 10 or 15 thousand of them. But im pretty sure Canadian tire in Lethbridge has them.

What age are the CCI primers that are in green and white box? I've been reloading since 2006 and they don't look familiar.

I get supply and demand but you have no idea if they have been stored properly.

Crazy times we live in.

Was announced that a new primer factory will be built in Texas. Don't have the link handy.

Default Primers

I believe Cabela’s online has Federal 215M magnum match primers listed at $17.99/100 pk.. That’d be $180/thousand plus tax retail…. Only catch is there is no stock, and I believe I heard there was an Announcement from Federal that there would most likely not be any available for the civilian market until the end of 2023 at the earliest…. So consider, and adjust price accordingly….

I live life for the long run so pounden some guy for a lousy $100 over my greed
for primers or powder will make very little change what so ever in the long run of my life.

Threat people well and some how some where you get a fair shake in life, stick it to someone and some where down the road someone will stick it so far up your butt your hat will never sits on your mellon right.

If you think cash is going to make you happy and a better person then obviously you never had any serous cash.

If I see a hungry guy for me buying him a meal makes me feel ten times better then buying myself the same meal .Feels good to give and be fair ,trumps any drug ,good for the soul .

Life is short journey so live it right .

Cheers

Cabelas has been 20 percent over priced on all powders for way over a year , I'm done with them now for life . There not the only venues selling stuff ,look around and stuff comes up . 12 percent retail tax out my way .100 for varget at cabelas , online 80 delivered to my door including shipping and no gas burnt getting it .

Adjust your shooting for the time being ,it's not life or death here or the dirty 30's .

Cheers
JD

And yet at the price listed they sold within a few hours. Well the title said 'Sold, please delete' and the listing is now gone.

The prices may seem crazy now, but wait until next summer, primers will be even harder to find, and the price will only go up.

I saw 400 Federal LR primers sell for over $ 500 last week. It is crazy out there.

Sadly I think this is spot on. Powder is showing up slowly and I think that’s going to cool the inflated prices on the buy and sells but until we start seeing retailers with primers in stock regularity the madness will continue.

I just looked up the average price of a pack of Cigarettes in Alberta $13.95 for 20 pack. That works out to $70 per 100 or $700 per thousand.

Pack day smoker smokes 7000+ a year without a second thought .

Imagine if you target shoot and smoke.

Last spring I was selling LR primers for I believe 5 or 6 bucks a hundred and had a few people accuse me of gouging. In hindsight I should have waited a year

Supposedly there will be shipments of primers in late 2023. I would guess These won't be available for long. I agree, today's prices will seem cheap.

A can of Skoal is somewhere around $35. Makes smoking seem cheap.
