Good morning Dave!! Prefix on the ser# is a G on this one but I was wondering if there was a letter after the 70 they forgot to stamp on the barrel to designate blind mag? I’ll have to measure up the action screws as id like to find a synthetic stock for it…

I actually remember those Rick. I saw one in an old catalog at my Grandfathers homestead back in the day…

After an initial look into it, they are an M70A, but I can't find any reference to the A being stamped on them!

Ha! Thank you sir!!! The 670 was a blind mag and it’s designation also had an “A” after it when buying parts for it if I remember correctly…

model 70 push feed
Are you planning on leaving it blind mag or getting parts to turn it into a hinged floorplate. I have a blind mag model 70 originally in 7 rem mag no special markings.Mr Leeper installed a takeoff model 70 barrel in .338 win mag on it for me. I have the original wood stock and was wondering if there is enough wood there to alter it to hinged floorplate as I have the parts?

Going to stick with the blind mag but hopeful to find a synthetic stock for it….
I might just strip the gloss and do an oil finish if I have to stick with the wood..

Not a fan of the gloss look? I don’t mind that old school look in this age of synthetics. Sets them rifles apart.

I have a few family heirlooms in Remingtons with that gloss as well. I don’t hate just not my cup of tea…

Thank you ! I sure Hope customs releases your parts from Numrich. I’ll see if I can find a used stock this side of the 49th before I gamble on Boarder Security letting me change out my stock…
