Default I was thinking about seater dies

I was thinking about micrometer seating dies. Is it a function of the diamiter of the bullet or is the shape of the neck a shoulder part of the function of the die?

Where I am going with this is can a 6.5x47 seating die work to seat a 6.5 Creed or 6.5 PRC?

They definitely don't support the upper case, folded shoulders from crimp setup errors illustrate that pretty well. Sliding sleeves may have some body taper to them, that's about it, but, doubting that it's all that supportive.
Was asking Hornady about crimp ring dia in a 450-400NE, the said 413, and it was actually the same ring for a 405Win as well. I would expect most dies of a given caliber would be like that, if the crimp ring is separate. Match dies like Redding, RCBS, Forster micrometer dies don't have a crimp ring though.

Default Forrester and Redding Competition

Using Redding Competition and Forester Micrometer. Dont think they have a crimp. I was also thinking it might be dependant on shoulder angle. I think 6.5x47 Creed and PRC are all 30 degrees. (checked it on the interwebs) and they do all have a 30 degree shoulder.

Brass is too precious right now to experiment with.

Not sure if this helps, I use a Micro top Hornady .243 Win. seater for 6mm. Hornady 103 ELD-X and 107 Sierra Matchkings in my 6BR-AI.
Works perfectly.

You can use a die for a similar diameter case, but a larger diameter case will often not fit in the seater die.

I use the same Whidden seating die on 6.5CM & 6.5x47L. But larger cases, as was said above, won’t fit into this die.

I would worry the case is not supported enough to get things perfectly straight.

I have several Redding micrometer seating dies, and use them without issue.
I also have a Frankfurt Aresenal universal micrometer seating die with various sized bushings,
we tested run out with a die indicator, and compared the loaded rounds on target and all is good.
That die is quite a bit cheaper than the Reddings or my Widden seating dies.
