Default Sight housing ring gone

I just picked up a spot hogg hoggit from a fellow AO member today and it’s in very good shape save for the housing ring (I believe it is called that). There was nothing but a smidgen of once upon a halo in one corner.

What would be the best way to fix this?

Default Customer Service

Call Spot Hogg and explain your situation, I bet they will ship you out a new sight ring as their CS is second to none.

I sent them an email so it’s obviously pending reply. Thanks for that

At this stage I purchased a cheap bottle of fresh white nail polish. And I generously coated the ring. It wasn’t perfect with some outside the desired area. But I let it dry overnight and used a cotton ball with nail polish remover and try and tidy up the edges, frequently changing cotton balls. I then did the same to smooth the face of the ring so it wasn’t bumpy and bubbly. So far it’s really coming in. I did wipe a bit too much off to the point that it’s faded in some parts but I added a bit more polish where necessary to thicken it. I’ll let it dry until tonight when I smooth it again.

I’m super confident this will work and a guy could choose any colour he desires.

I’ll keep updates and post results when done. Surely I can’t be the only guy who needed a new ring.

Nail polish: $2.99, wife already had remover and cotton balls, but they too are mere dollars. Under $10!
