Default keep it scoped?

So i have a 300 sav M99 scoped. I only have the one scope right now. Over the holidays i bought a 7600 270.
My plans were to take the scope from my Sav and put on the 270. And maybe get a cheaper scope for the smaller rifle, or should i leave it with the irons?

So im just curious, do you guys like to keep a good iron sight rifle in the safe? Should i have both of them scoped?

My current scope is just a vortex 3x9. Simple, but I'm happy with it. Might even get a nicer one for the 270.

Just kinda wondering what you guys like to do.

The only rifles I have without scopes are an AR-15 and a 96 Swede, eyesight has been deteriorating. Do whatever makes sense to you, never mind everyone else.

I'd leave it on the 300 , specially if it is shooting good , unless you feel like going back to iron s.. I swapped scopes out on a 243 last week and spent 2 boxes of bullets getting it to shoot again .Nothing wrong with a vortex scope .Put a new one on the 270 .

Ya I'll probably leave the scope on her. Works fine in the bush. Irons seem they would only be handy in really thick bush? Kinda why i considered it.

Nothing wrong with irons if your eyesight allows it, I wish that I could. Careful with cheap scopes, the last 3 or 4 that have come across my work bench have proven to be a total failure. Better off to go with good quality used optics that are economical rather than cheap new junk.

My vortex has been an amazing scope. Bout as simple as they come and solid. I've dropped it, its been rattled around in the back seat of a truck, and still stay center enough to kill. Fairly cheap. I reckon its a gooden to leave on the sav. Thanks.
