Default Frankenrifle

This rifle started as a LH Model 70 30-06 that I had Jan Kolenbrander convert to a magnum and had him fit a Williams extractor. It feeds as good as any rifle I have owned. I added a new generation Winchester Model 70 follower, PT&G aluminum bottom metal, Echols McMillan stock, S&K mounts and a 6x36 Leupold with LR reticle. Bill Leeper installed a take off 7mm Rem Mag barrel, recut the chamber and lengthened the throat to take advantage of the mag box.

Some day I will send it to Mitch Kendall for finish work and paint.

Did you use a factory box or Wyatt's?

Factory. I wouldn't touch a Wyatts with a ten foot pole. In the model 70 you can also use a H&H length box but most times that requires modifications to the rear brush so that cartridges will eject. This one would not eject with the longer mag box.

Have you shot it yet?

What kind of paint job are you going to put on it.
