No, Not the animal kind
My gun Club has had 4 Lincoln Sporting Clay Trap machines stolen from our range building.
If someone wants to sell, or even give you, a Lincoln trap machine like the one pictured you should check it out as you might be dealing in stolen property.
The machines have been metal stamped with CMGC in the body (that's for Crowsnest Mountain Gun Club) so look for any grinding marks that may have been done to eliminate the stamping.
These machines have a value to us of more than $2000. and a theft report has been filed with our local RCMP.
The Traps seemed to have been a targeted theft as the thief took 4 out of the 5 machines that were stored at the back of the building and walked by a full case of 12ga trap ammo and didn't take that.
We also had a steel target plate stolen from our range last year. We filed a theft report on that but a $100. piece of metal that people shoot at is not going to get much attention from any police force. Unfortunately, we did not think to have any I.D. on our target plates ( we do now) and we left them out so they could be used by the members at any time ( we don't now).
Our plate could be hanging on another gun range in Alberta or just in someones back pasture. It is slightly unique in that it was cut 12" square, has 1/2" holes in two corners and was cut from 5/8" AR500.
We want our property back and we want the thief, or thieves, dealt with by the the law all the way into a jail cell.
If you have any information you can contact
crow-gun@telus.net and we will get the police working
for our gun owning community and getting rid of the
not "law abiding" gun owners.
