Can’t beat that price for those units. With an ice transducer they make killer ice units.

I have been using one for 2 full winters so far it is great. Get at least 2 days on a single charge and I have the garmin stryker 4 with the kit I just got the ice transducer and tried it today and it works great as well. They are worth their weight in gold.

It's part of the $4,000 LiveScope ice bundle in the 9" version (EchoMap UHD 95sv). So yeah, it's good. Mine has never given me any problems with my LiveScope. Fires up and stays lit out on the ice in -30*C...more than I can say for my POS Lowrance Carbon 12s...

The 75sv is also livescope compatible is it not? Or did I read that incorrectly.

Hahaha. I am assuming you are referring to one of those reviews at Cabela’s?

They certainly do here though since you can buy one right now online though.

The larger model is a better deal as it’s not only bigger but comes with a transducer. They’re probably clearing them out because that transducer was superseded about a year ago but that GT54 is pretty good on a lake.

I’ve got the 10” 105sv echomap ultra paired with a GT51 transducer and have been very happy with it here on the big pond.

I’m referring to going there at 6 am on Boxing Day to find no stock on sale items

The small one comes with the same transducer.

No it doesn't. For ice packages.... Dual beam chirp comes with the small ones....gt8 comes with the larger ones. Gt10 is also available. 3 distinctly different ducers.
For summer the gt54 ducer only comes with the 7" and larger SV units.

Usually when they put units on sale at almost half price or less it's because they are being discontinued and making way for the new releases. It's always winter when they make that switch. It's a good time to buy a decent unit even though new technology will be available by spring...imo its the best time and way to buy units with great features. So what if you're always a year or two behind?! There is still a ton of technology available at your fingertips and it makes switching every couple years much more affordable.

The listing for the smaller one says nothing about a transducer. Not saying it doesn’t come with one but usually it’s in the description if it’s there.

If so, it comes down to budget and dash space.

Did you click on the link? It's not an ice-fishing package - its the SV model. It comes with the same transducer the 9" size does - the GT54.

It's a poor description on Cabela's site. It is the sv model and comes with the GT54 transducer.

This is correct. As someone mentioned above, Garmin now sells these units wth the GT 56 transducer. The clearance models come with the GT 54 transducer - which is still a brilliant unit.

Is the GT8 transducer that comes with the small ice pkg useless past 80-100' of water? Wondering if a person would be further ahead to get the GT10? Let me know if anyone has tried both or used the GT8 on say Cold lake.

Appreciate it

Depends which head unit you have. If you can't adjust cone angle (striker 4/5 not plus models)....it defaults to 24* cone angle and washes out a bit past 100ft but is definitely still usable. If you have a 5+ or larger model then you can adjust cone angle on the gt8 down to 16* and it's plenty usable well past 100ft.
I have the gt8 and a vivid 7sv head unit and have used mine to 150ft and can still pick up a small lure with good separation. I typically don't ice fish Lakers any deeper than 80-90ft (no reason to) so I've not purchased the gt10 ducer which is 9-16*

I grabbed an Echomap UHD 7sv. Looks like parts are hard to come by for hardwater setup.

Cabelas has the small ice package on sale for $169. That will fit a 7". Comes with gt8 ducer case and battery but no spare mount. GPS City will also have stock on everything

Why would you be going there at 6 am on boxing day looking for stock if you could order one online for the same price a day or two prior and have it delivered to your door?

Anyway, looks like it is all sold out everywhere but BC and Ottawa.
