Looks same as dui laws. Loose license for a year first offence with a fine.
2nd year a little longer with a bigger fine.
3rd time 5yrs and a helluva fine and big lawyer fees.
4rth time 10 yrs to life loss of license....once at that point what ya hot to loose? You don't have a license to loose. But you sure as hell can go to jail for a longer period of time!
Should be the same with poachers except make the sentence twice as harsh. 2nd offence 6 months, 3rd offence 23 months...etc. that guy's spent 2.5 out of 3 years in jail. Either way we pay but i'd sooner buy eggo's and potatoes than find my deer missing it's head on the side of thetrail!!
Been there...2 bucks 190 and 200+ typical mulies both shot with a small caliber rifle wednesday night! 2 days before I's gonna let an arrow fly. Got them deer on film! Not no more...and where in the @#$% is the story in that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I might be off base, but I think in the States if you're convicted of a felony, you lose the right to bear arms?

That at least might help slow him down.

A career poacher is a career poacher but if the deterrent is there before hand, perhaps it persuades a few guys “on the bubble” before the damage is done.

Don’t get why the 10 year thing is in that law? 3 strikes and you’re out, period!

Be curious to see if the accused actually gets sentenced to the full extent.

Perhaps castration would be a more effective preventive for those poacher types?

Cut off his fingers...one at a time. Start with the right index.

Everything can be solved with fines! You poach a deer and you "donate" 25000 to SRD. You get caught drunk driving 25000 to some youth education program. You cause an accident while driving drunk 50000! Its easy to fix!

I'd be willing to bet these turds don't have that kind of money. What now " ya owe me and you have ten years to pay or else"? Give me a break, hefty fines do not work. Major jail time or worse.
