Default Don Getty Wildland Park

I'm pretty new to hunting in Alberta and am thinking about heading out sometime this fall with my bow and my backpack in search of a little solitude, perhaps a deer as well. The couple of units south of Canmore are open for antler and antlerless mulie and whitetail, so they seem like a good place to be. But does that area also get loaded up with hikers and hunters? Or, if a guy (me) is willing to hike a few miles off the beaten trails, is there some quiet and solitude to be had?

There are several parts to Don Getty. Check it out good.

There are hikers in certain places but I'm sure during hunting season, if you're willing to put some gravel in your travel you'll likely not see anyone.

Better yet, go scouting this summer and see for yourself.

Happy hunting, be safe.
