foot hold traps

Those of you that are using foot holds for coyotes just wandering what your preferred make & style , looked at MB 650 cast ? , Bridger # 3 Canadian - made in Taiwan ??? , replacing Oneida Victor 2 coil off sets , had these for a few years , JC conner springs & swivels on them so have to buy more . 4 that where buried by mistake by a farmers hired hand , 3 recovered , one with missing jaw . At least he gave me cash to replace them .

Not alot of experience with them but have been using mb 550 4 coils. Padded jaw. Have been working great. No complaints.

I use duke #3’s offset jaws. Ones padded and the other two aren’t. Haven’t got out this year or last with them but hopefully soon this winter.

You should look at the K9-Extreme from No B.S. Lures.
I have not used them but have heard very good things about them. They look extremely well built.

I run mb-650's. They are great for breaking through frozen dirt etc.

I have a bunch of Victor #3's and I bought a couple of the MB 550's to try. Night and day difference with the 550's being better.

4 coils on the 550's. Tons more holding power and the trap just seems to be built better.

I had a coyote pull a jaw off a victor #3 2 years ago. It popped right out of the frame of the trap. I had it on a drag, but the drag caught on a tree and he gave a few more pulls and popped the trap apart. I tried to fix the trap, but the main frame was bent too much so I tossed it. Can't see this happening with the 550's.

The trigger on the 550's seems better as well. Very easy to set right. And the pan hardly needs to move to fire.

I'll be buying 550's for coyote from now on
