Default A new bow, Borders 52" Ghillie Dhu , {Picture heavy.}

I just got a new toy, the Border Ghillie Dhu 52" RC with their Hex 7 carbon limbs. This is a super short super recurve , measuring 45" tip to tip when strung ,with Borders newest limb technology, the HEX 7.
It is 49# at 28" , with Borders own layup carbon limbs , Cocobolo riser with Buff horn overlays on the belly and Cocobolo overlays on the back. The belly side of the tips are also overlayed with cocobolo.
I shot it yesterday fior the first time, and am taking it hunting today. It seems to like a Penthalon slimline 400 spine shaft , with a 100 gr steel half outsert, and a 300 grain point for a total shaft weight of 694 grains.
It should be great moose medicine.

No doubt...how much more speed is gained with those extreme reflex limbs?

I have not done the chrono and measured draws yet, but by going with the HEX 7 on their Covert Hunters results they are quick, of course with 700 grain arrows it will not be fast. With an arrow of 8gr/pound I expect it to sizzle a bit, but I only shoot that light for the review,then it is back to real arrows..

Beautifull craftsmanship. I sure hope you didn't get any sap on it.

I believe that configuration would be classed as a "Horse Bow". Let us know how it shoots.

They also make this with a Horsebow grip for those that want it.
This one is a nice shooter.
