Default Grass fires

Fields down south are dry, saw a couple fires, one North of Pincher, then on just outside ft. Mcleod, could get scary if the wind picks up.

I am surprised that there are not more fires. Last Sunday, my wife and I spend a good part of the day in the area between the Sandy McNabb camp ground and the blue rock canyon. Lots and lots of people and many smoking and butting on the ground.

It was so dry that I would not have been offended if the area was temporarily closed off to the public.

Where I am, I would like it to rain for about a week without stopping.

The fuel is there, just needs an ignition source, drier than a popcorn fart out there, don't recall ever seeing it this dry, can't believe they haven't shut the creeks and rivers down, was at my moms last night who lives right on Pincher creek and you can easily hope across the rocks to the other side with out getting your feet wet. Then homestead on Drywood the valley is starting to look like osoyoos and not the irrigated part. The scary part is we haven't had any real big wind, when it comes, mark my words it ain't gonna be good! We need rain desperately!

Default Reno dry

Compared the temps and humidity between southern Alberta and Reno nevada yesterday. Reno was only one degree warmer and only 1% lower humidity. 33 degrees and 15% humidity. When the temperature gets higher than the humidity, fires can start when a woodpecker accidentally pecks on a rock and causes a spark. Hotter and dryer this week. Fingers crossed we don't get a live butt tossed out in the wrong place . Be careful out there.
