And what about those cars? And then they change the colors? What gives?

Bush, maybe you want to explain a little more, give some examples of these new laws.

Two that come to mind are the OHV helmet laws and Bill 6.

What OP doesn't understand is that we need all these new laws and regs for our own safety, and to generate revenue if you break one. A person's "convienance" is not a priority.

ninja man, I understand that part of it. What I don't get are the exemptions.

Apparently protecting our very lives is less important than not offending someone. And yet the supposed justification for these laws, is to protect us.

This would never have happened if Rugatika was our Premier.

Notley: Hey Hoffman, how can we pass a new bill to stick it to the deplorables, but protect those who we don't want to screw over?

Hoffman: Easy, pass a law for everyone, then protect those special interest groups you want with an 'exception' clause.

Notley: Will they fall for it? Are they that obtuse?

Hoffman: We're in power aren't we?

Thanks to more and more laws our society is becoming safer than ever. The government can take care of us better than we can take care of ourselves. My dream is that some day we'll be physically incapable of breaking the laws - only then will our lives be perfect.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Unless you're Sikh or a Native. Betting they'll be raking in the bucks next weekend. Love airport security, my hat get's checked, the Sikh behind me got a wave of the wand.

That's because some hats of metal in them and that would set off the detector. So they ask you to remove it so you have the minor inconvenience of taking your hat off, and not having to be "wanded" with the hand metal detector.

Sikhs generally don't have any metal in their turbans. Although when I worked airport security many years ago I had a young Sikh gentleman come through who set off metal detector. When I "wanded" over his turban with the metal detector it beeped and that indicated there was something there. I escorted him and his mother to the private screening area (he wasn't 18 yet) and asked him to remove it. After some argument, he did. He took a box of condoms and took each one out and individually wrapped the packets in his hair. This was an attempt to hide them from his mother, who packs his suitcase. All of the condoms started falling out one by one. His mom was furious and I ****ed my pants laughing. The foil on the inside of the wrapping set off the detector.
