Cat and Fitzio: It's just the way I see it. I worked as a peace officer for sixteen years and many people attracted to that type of work are "different". I don't see myself as rude in the least, only factual based on my personal experience.

There are many excellent officers who handle their authority professionally but there are also many who don't. I thought most people realized this. If you haven't met one of these authoritative gentlemen yet then you have something to look forward to.

My opinion is I think you are full of it if you think that, if that is case you must be be cut from the same mold as those you worked with for 16 years .
it's the same as me saying construction workers are uneducated rednecks that couldn't make it through high school.

Not in the least is it the same as your example. I didn't specify "all" officers like you said all construction workers are red necks...that is ridiculous! I would also add it's much more than what I think, I lived it day after day and stand by my opinion. Try and name another profession which shows these tendencies?

I'm perfectly fine with you thinking I'm "full of it", that's your opinion, and you are free to conclude I was overly "authoritative as well.

Thanks guys. I think my question has been answered. I did read somewhere that a passenger gets the seatbelt ticket, if they are of legal age, and not the driver.
I thought the old "hernia operation" defence was good, but I do like "my boobs are too big" defence also. lol.

If you want a solution to the seat belt laws trade your modern vehicle in for a pre 1949 vehicle. Unless they changed the law.. if you have a vehicle old enough to be from before vehicles had seat belts, the vehicle exempts the driver from having to wear a seat belt.

Good point. Couple years ago I was stopped by RCMP for no seatbelt. My 1980 gmc only had the lap belt seat belt and that was deemed legal.
