Default The Cup cometh...

Unfortunately, none of us will be alive to see it!

Also, can't help but notice you didn't say anything about goaltending...

Kosk had a .917 avg when they shut down last year. That terrible?

You and Roger Millions. External Optimists, or perpetually deluded. God love ya Bessie, keep this up and soon you will be like a Leafs fan salivating for another cup.

I predict McDavid won't win a Cup with the Oil, sad as that is.

I was sad for Jarome too. Crap teams and bad timing.

Lots of damn good players without cup rings. Its a big league and the toughest league championship to win in pro sports.

I suppose their odds are at least better with only 7 teams to play.

It's not, it's actually pretty reasonable. However. I have little faith he can repeat it, especially with Klefbom out and Nurse, Bear, Jones, and Barrie as your top four.

Your second and third stringers though!

I don't know if its the right time for hockey , billionaires and millionaires convinced people of government on many levels that hockey players should miss a beat
Yet the ordinary joe's get nothing
hairdressers locked out
family business shut down
ushers at the games no working
restaurants closed
parking attendants no working
the list can go on

I couldn't visit my grandchildren on Christmas Day because of lock out
but Mcdavid isn't missing his cheque

I love hockey more than most but a lot of minimum wage average joe's are out of work

pretty tough to cheer for either Oilers or Flames when so so many small business's have there backs against the wall

Finally !!! Bessie I thought you had forgot !!!

Yep gonna hoist that cup high! Goalies we have this year had us at the top of the points percentage for Canadian teams last year. See no reason that is gonna change.

Similar boat as you re the Christmas time with family Gord but maybe getting hockey back is more about us getting something to cheer for and some normalcy back in our lives than millionaires playing a game.

Check out the Covid and Politics threads here in the general discussion area and tell me there isn't some that could use some normalcy in their lives right now.

If it saves just ONE head from exploding...

It would be awesome to have the Oilers excel out of the basement. The new structure will be interesting.

Yep agree. You have to appreciate Jarome because he was a home grown Alberta boy, and he always had class. I really wish he had gotten his ring when they beat Tampa in Ot game 6 on Marty Gelina's goal.

Hey SNS2, you knew Marty somehow didn't you?

About the only good thing coming out of last nights game.

Tonight will be better, and will take the win back.

1st line. Anything that happened on the McDavid line was a lone effort by McDavid. Nuge looked off and Kassian looked awful

2nd line. Overall looked good. Kahun and Drasaitl were connecting early and it took Yamo about 1.5 periods to get his head screwed on straight. Leave this line alone.

3rd line. Was good and Puljujarvi was engaged

4th. Was ok

I would throw Ennis on the 3rd, Kassian on the 4th and try Puljujarvi on the 1st line tonight.

But Oiler lost for 3 reason last night and it wasn't line combinations

1. Better goaltending
2. Turnovers at the blue line
3. Brutal middle of the ice coverage in our zone.

Oh well, we got it out of our system, better night tonight.

Even Colorado got waxed last night by the Covid ridden Dallas Stars.

Colorado played the Blues. Dallas I don't think plays till like the 19th due to their problems.

Pretty much agree on everything here. Kassian was terrible last night. Weak on the puck and lazy. Larsson was not much better. He has been in the league long enough not to make boneheaded plays like he did on the first goal.

Chaisson was terrible. Weak on the stick, couldn't make a pass or get the puck out when he did have it. I think it's time for retirement.

JP looked good and engaged. I like the 3rd line. Maybe keep him with Turris for a few more games.

2nd line. Don't touch, looks good.

Koekkoek looked good for his first game with the Oil. Might not see him tonight as Russell might be in.

Weak start, but can make up for it tonight. Need a few more shots from 3rd and 4th lines.
