Default Blackett Lake south trail

Hello everyone,

Was curious if anyone has gone through to Blackett lately from the Pine Hurst side. Wondering how the trail is now, I know it was quite soupy earlier.

Default Interested Also...

Was hoping to head there and check it out soon also. The website has not been updated lately and say's closure but then below say's open but poor condition.

If anyone has any info that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Dave

I know it's not the same trail but we were in Lakeland for 4 days last week and talked to some other paddlers who said the portage between McGuffin and Blackett was a knee deep bog in spots. I'm guessing the south trail was similar.

Fishing was slow, one keeper size pike and maybe a dozen small ones, no walleye

Going to head out there tomorrow. Will update later what the condition of the trail is then.

Cutlines have been very wet up there this year. Just starting to dry up now.

We made it, the trail is quite soupy in several places but there are trails cut for the bad spots. Was a little iffy with the trailer we had pulled on one of the quads.

Not sure about the trail but the fishing was awesome two weeks ago from the canoe. Could not keep the walleye off husky jerks trolled behind the canoe.
