Default Fishing in the Red Deer River near Penhold

Taking the family out to an area called Braithwaite this week. I found it online and apparently it has some good fishing. If anybody has fished in the RDR here or anywhere near Penhold can you tell me what kind of fish are found in the river here. Also any info on spots and lures/flies would be really helpful. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

On Hwy 592 there is the A-Soo-Wuh-Um Day Use Area.
You can park there, walk down stream a couple of hundred metres, to some nice holding water for goldeye. I've hooked them there, fly-fishing from the grassy/willowy bank with with a hopper or stimulator pattern.
Plenty of fun. Except for the jet boats screaming down the river, disturbing the banks, the angling and the peace and quiet.

Lots of whites and Browns there. Probably lots of goldeye too.

Hey I am working at the airport for the foreseeable future and am interested in Braithwaite, where do you access that little section of paradise?

Default Cliffs

Pretty sure if you're accessing the river from braithwaite you're gonna need to rappel. If I recall correctly it's on the west side of the river and it's cliff face quite a ways down to the river.

Hopefully I'm remembering wrong
