Default Your weird fly...

I know a lot of people who have an uncommon or weird fly that they use regularly, that most people haven't even heard of.

Mine is a Turk's tarantula with a foam head, and an F-fly.

what's yours?

I wouldn't qualify mine as weird but probably not very common here, it's an invicta, a traditional loch fly i was quite successful with back in Scottish lochs. It's working really well here on alpine lakes and streams, a great imitation of a caddis coming up under water. It's a killer for cutties!

One skill I wish I was better at is marrying/tying wet fly wing...

Not the strangest of flies, but it still amazes me how many people don't know about it or simply don't use it.

Purple Haze - basically a purple parachute adams.

Absolutely deadly cutty and grayling fly...

Reminds me of a dry version of a Snipe and purple, great little fly. I'll have to have a go at it.

Flieguy, you can make them with Mallard flanks wings (like a Mallard & claret), works as well if you're not a purist.
