Default Season Question

Hi,

I have thought about this for quite some time but never bothered to ask.

Why in certain zones does rifle season for elk open up Oct 25, and then Moose and Deer opens up on Nov 1st?

Is there an actual reason for this?

Thanks!

Years ago elk opened on nov 1 also. Then they moved elk to oct 25. Don't recall why, not sure if I ever knew.

the theory behind this is that a longer season increases harvest rates.

they must have a quota that wasn't getting filled with the shorter season

Ah I see that would make sense, makes it a little tougher to coordinate our camp dates but oh well no complaints!

Thanks for the feedback.
