Sheep, P16 and will never get drawn at the current tag numbers.
Never got drawn for anything as 999 everything.

Sounds like they are giving out less tags and running the bull and cow season at the same. I also heard that a tag will only be for one cow this year.

231 yards one shot kill with a 270. Shot by a SHE - and she was even chewing gum! Haha.. Doesnt say what bullet/grain. Can't go wrong with a partition. Run a good bonded/monolithic bullet in the 130-150 grain range You should be good.
BUT!
Any reason to get a new gun is a GOOD ENOUGH reason

Talked to one of the biologists here in Medicine Hat recently, only one tag being issued for the zones around the base this year.

Can someone help me out, what does this mean:
"Camp Wainwright Deer - 17 Priority-only application"?

Means you entered 999 for the draw.

I never actually entered, a buddy did, and as you can likely tell, I'm rather new at this. So a 999 increase my priority by 1 as there was no intention to actually hunt this season? What does the 17 mean though, is that high, low, does it mean anything?

Everyone that applied for the Camp Wainwright deer tags will see the 17 ,whether they were drawn or not. If you look at the Camp Wainwright Deer section in the draw book, you will see the 17, and if you look up your priority, you will also see that 17. With just a small bit of looking, you will notice that for every draw, there is a number that designates that draw.

Thanks. I wonder why. It seems that the herd inside and outside is a single over-population.
Oh well. I hoped but may have guessed wrong.

Camp Wainwright Deer is Draw Code 17.

We got 3 moose draws. Grandson got one in 510, bride got one in 510, and the grandson's bud that we got hooked on hunting has one in 508. Looks like I'm gonna be busy guiding and gutting...

Fell asleep on the couch evening of June 22, woke up at 12:30 am, sh*t.
Should have done it earlier, my bad.
Undrawn for walleye if that counts, ha.

999 everything but Bison. Dad has his 509 bull moose draw. So I will partner with him. Next year will be mule buck in the peace country and then the wife will be drawing her wainwright bull moose and first rifle season deer hunt. Hopefully dad draws his Trophy Speed Goat and I'll draw my non trophy at the same time.

Nice. Must be an easy elk WMU. I get late cow every second year in 312.
BISON A SECOND TIME? Isn't that harder than winning the lottery twice????

Don't know? I've never bought a lottery ticket! Just the odd charity raffle, and I must say I have won a few items in them!!!
Looking into the Partner tag as it makes more sense to "partner" with someone who has never been drawn. I enjoy the hunt but to shoot another bison doesn't really do anything for me, so best to let someone where it does.

Now that, is what hunting is all about. Sharing the wealth. Some good karma coming your way if it works out.

All Suffield antlerless elk hunts have 2 tags, and will for the foreseeable future as far as I'm aware.
