Default Good Gun Safes

I did a search on the forum and could not find any info on some of the better safes. I am willing to spend up to $2000 or better on a good safe. I really like the John Deere safes as I am a John Deere guy, and might be able to pass off as parts. Bashaw Sports sells Browning safes which I know are good as well, but does anybody know who makes these safes for such manufacturers. I am looking for something to hold around 15-20 guns as well as some other important items. What is everybody else using, pros and cons.

The John Deere safes are made by Liberty.
I see you are from Bashaw. You should stop in and check out the John Deere dealer in Wetaskiwin. They give some pretty big discounts off of MSRP. Last year alone they sold 70 safes.
I am looking at ordering a new 35 gun from them.

If the John Deere are made by Liberty then they are top quality safes. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

I've got a John Deere safe. It's got a good fire rating and seems to be pretty solid. It took three professional movers and a dolly to get it into my basement. They only knock I have on it is the layout inside. If you have scoped bolt actions it won't fit them all side by side by side. Other that that I love it, it matches the John Deere bar stools at the bar.

For that price you could buy a good used Burglar rated safe. Higher security. See Wingenback , Lang locks , in Edmonton. Wont be as plush inside but very secure.

Get the John Deere safe because an expensive safe of any other make with a John Deere sticker just won't be the same. And remember do not tell your wife the combination.

Made my own,to the size I wanted and needed. Will hold 18 guns easily
room for shells and a whole bunch more. All said, it only costed me
$400 dollars in materials and my time to make which is what costed the most.
Had access to a sheet metal shop that was the only reason Imade it
myself, other wise was going buy 1.

If you are using this to hold " Other important items" than at the very least make sure it is a UL rated 1 hour fire safe. I have seen these safes looking like charred boxes but contents being safe. If it is not UL rated and you have a fire, good luck to you.

Peavey Mart currently has their Liberty Safes on sale. $750 IIRC.
