Default Lake deifenbaker fly fishing?

Hey everyone, I am going to be heading out to Lake Deifenbaker this long weekend with the extended Family and thought I would bring my rod along with me.

I don't have a boat and have never fly fished a lake before. Are there any pointers someone has that might help me out? Is it even possible I will catch anything from the shore? If so are there any recommended flies I should have with me??

Thanks in advance!

-Dustin

Dude. The world record rainbow is out of Diefenbaker. 48 pounds!!
I guess a whole mess of triploid rainbows escaped the hatchery near the lake and over the past while grew to huge proportions. Like....100,000 escaped or something. These two brothers mastered when to catch these monsters...late at night, etc. Look it up on youtube. I think they catch em where a river feeds into the lake? or somethin... They catch em from shore!
