And he received almost instant backlash from the apologetic wokespersons - in spite of the notable applause he received from the audience.

When will people realize that the Woke Emperor is not wearing any clothes?

Sad fact, in the military, you can't speak you're mind , until you are retired.

Sounds like a disgruntled ex employee Which are everywhere nowadays and want to be heard no matter what.

Not the place or time to vent in this case, would expect more from a senior officer but it is a sign of the times.

Not saying I disagree with him.

Could have respectfully declined the invitation and went about this from a different angle.

All good people have to do for bad people to succeed is say or do nothing. Way too much of that these days.

True but place and time is critical in maximizing your success.
In this case from my perspective it wasn’t.
Decline the invitation and later sit with someone to have your story told about your experiences/thoughts etc.
This was no more than perhaps a future politician attempting to gain traction and use this event as a platform sure seemed like one.
Maybe? Could be wrong.
Ohh well onto another first world problem

It was the appropriate time and place due to the resulting coverage and exposure it recieved.

If you want to be heard, speak at a time and place that people will hear you.

I agree with his sentiments wholeheartedly.
