Default Keg is home.

Hello all. This is Keg.

First I want to thank you all for your prayers and help.

I would also ask for prayers for a safe journey south for Ken. Words can not do justice to how much it meant to me to see Ken walk up to the door of the hospital this afternoon. I already knew what sort of man Ken is, but this added a whole new level of appreciation for just how special he is.

A quick update. On Friday evening I experienced some pain in my upper chest.
Thinking it was just a bit of a lung infection on top of my already existing lung condition, I wasn't concerned. But it was uncomfortable enough to make me want to seek medical relief.
At the local hospital they seemed concerned that it was more then that, they suspected a heart attack.

After several hours of tests, ekgs ext, they loaded me on an airplane and shipped me off to the Royal Alex in Edmonton.

By Monday afternoon they had a diagnoses. I had a blocked artery in my heart. A heart attack. Twenty minutes later They had installed a stint, a device to open up that artery and I was wheeled off to the recovery room.

This morning, with all signs coming up good they discharged me and a couple of hours later Ken was there to pick me up for the long drive home.

We arrived a couple of hours ago and Ken turned and burned for the south.
I settled in to relax and recuperate.

I have to say, the trip up was like traveling with family. Ken's driving put me at ease and we had a great visit while we traveled.

The care I received from everyone on this journey was extraordinary. Every step of the way I felt like I was among friends who cared very much for my welfare. From doctors, to nurses, from the pilots who flew me down to Ken who drove me home.

Honestly, I tried to read Patty's thread but had to give up because I could not see through the tears of gratitude.

You folks are the best of the best.

And now I shall go lie down and rest. It may be a while before I post again, but I can assure you all I am doing fine, far better then I have for a while.

Take care my friends.

Jim

Glad you are doing good, Keg. Much appreciation to Ken and have a safe journey back home. It’s snowy out there, so drive safe.

If you need help with anything, let me know Jim and I will drive up. Especially since we have been sort of planning a visit anyway.

Get well!

Thumbs up keg. Just take it easy for a few days and let the body adjust. Ken is a giver and will be the first to step up and offer help. Drive safe Ken.

Sorry to hear of your troubles but really glad to hear it has worked out so great. Somehow I missed the original thread that was posted.

Ken, you have always been a class act and a contributor to the community, great job once again but no surprise at all.

All the best and heal up fast and well.

Orv you brought a tear to my eye. Darn pollen. Must be allergies

Thanks guys

Jim it was nice sitting with you for 8 hours. I enjoyed it.

I just got into white court and everything is shaking. I thought maybe snow in the rims, but when I stopped and got out the shaking didnt. Apparently I'm tired. 16 hours straight did me in tonight, gonna be a wuss and grab a room. It wasn't a blinding snowstorm all the way, but by the 7000th semi I had enough.

Thanks everyone, especially thank you guys that helped.

Good night.

Glad to hear everything went well and you're on the mend!

I've yet to meet Ken, but this is just one more thing I've seen of him that impresses me. You're a good man Ken.

AO can be a little like a family at times. Sure we might not have picked each other and we might argue like children sometimes, but when one of us needs help, there's always people willing to step up and help out.

Glad you are home safe Keg and doing better, hope you have a speedy recovery.

Apparently you and Ken missed my suggestion you take a rest break in GP and I was gonna feed you both, but I suppose you needed to get home to rest.

Ken, drive safe buddy, glad you took a rest in WC. Next time just stop here, I have room for you.

Great to hear and awesome job to you both!
I'm sure the roads weren't the greatest yesterday, or today yet either. But I imagine a few great stories were told.
