Default Engine hours?

Looking at a 2008 Avalanche. Has approximately 4400 hours on dashboard. 11 year old truck with 4400 hours? What's considered too high for my mileage and hours? Truck has 178000 km.

just a comment from the uneducated.....

seems that's a lifetime average of about 40 km/hr, which doesn't seem out of line for me. should be a lot of hours left in that motor (depending on the way it was looked after, of course)

That is not very many engine hours, over 10 years.
Know nothing else about that vehicle though.

If it is a 5.3 with active fuel management just ensure it has had regular oil changes. Some people think that the oil life monitor should be run down to 0% and beyond. I am not a believer of that Maintenance program.
